Quienes somos
Somos una residencia retirada de las ciudades, ideal para concentrarse en realizar proyectos artísticos que precisen de recogimiento y abstracción. El Avispero consiste en un proyecto de residencia artística ubicado en Venezuela, que pretende promover y estimular el desarrollo del arte en la región a través del intercambio cultural e intelectual con artistas provenientes del exterior.
Programas de residencia
El Avispero y su serie de programas de artistas en residencia tienen por objeto invitar a artistas, curadores e historiadores de arte a un tiempo y espacio lejos de su entorno social habitual y obligaciones cotidianas.
La idea detrás del programa es estimular y facilitar un espacio dónde cohabitar con otros creadores, producir obras, reflexionar sobre un cuerpo de trabajo emergente y desarrollar una investigación .
Objetivos
1) Proveer al artista el espacio, la asistencia e infraestructura necesaria para realizar su propuesta de trabajo bajo tres modalidades: producción de un proyecto, exploración de nuevas situaciones para su práctica artística o intervención en la ciudad y/o comunidad.
2) Promover el intercambio como una plataforma generadora de nuevas ideas y toma de riesgos a través de conexiones con otros artistas, curadores e instituciones artísticas o civiles.

Contacto y promoción con galerías de artes y centros de divulgación de arte en Caracas, Venezuela.
Dirigido a
1) Artistas, tanto profesionales como emergentes, extranjeros y Venezolanos (locales o del interior del país), provenientes de cualquier disciplina de las artes visuales.
2) Curadores extranjeros o del interior del país que quieran aprovechar las facilidades de nuestra biblioteca, estudio privado o la residencia en la ciudad para realizar investigaciones o propuestas curatoriales experimentales.
Formato
1) Residencias aranceladas: en las cuales la matrícula de residencia debe ser pagada por el artista o patrocinadores de su país de origen. La inscripción es libre y hay cuatro convocatorias anuales.
2) Residencias subsidiadas: en este formato las residencias son el resultado de convenios previos con ciudades o instituciones nacionales e internacionales. Este tipo de residencias se anuncia oportunamente -según los convenios realizados- en la página de inicio de nuestro sitio web.
